Apple offers numerous upgrades to customers if they pick up an iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, including the new titanium alloy chassis, but even that was not enough to gain a positive customer feedback. In fact, according to the latest survey, which makes up more than 700,000 user-generated Google reviews, more users have started pointing out various aspects of Apple’s latest ‘Pro’ models that disappointed them with their purchase.
Updated data from PerfectRec had previously reported that the newest iPhone 15 Pro had the lowest customer satisfaction rating of any premium iPhone model that arrived before it, with 5-star ratings having decreased to 68 percent from October 2023.
“Our initial study of iPhone 15 satisfaction from October, 2023 found that the 15 Pro had the lowest customer satisfaction of any premium iPhone ever. Since then, the proportion of customers rating the iPhone 15 Pro 5-stars has decreased from 72% to 68%.”
Out of the many complaints, which included abysmal battery life, others spoke about the protruding rear cameras, which made the devices difficult to lay completely flat. Other grievances included the lack of compelling upgrades compared to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is strange to hear since earlier reports have mentioned that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max tout more exclusive upgrades compared to the previous-generation lineup.
“The iPhone 15 Pro wasn’t the only model that saw lower customer satisfaction in January. The percent of purchasers leaving five star reviews declined for all iPhone models from December. The largest month-to-month decrease was for the iPhone 15 Plus, which is generally the best-reviewed model of this generation. The month-to-month decline in satisfaction was statistically significant (p < 0.05 using a proportions test) for all iPhone 15 models.”
With the customer satisfaction ratings declining, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus users are somehow preferring their purchases over those who upgraded to the more premium handsets. The iPhone 15’s 5-star reviews for January 2024 stand at 78 percent, while the iPhone 15 Plus were at 73.5 percent, making them higher than the values for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Perhaps future software updates from Apple might improve the user experience, but that might take a while before the review is edited, and by then, some owners may not bother with those changes.
